We've recently got back from our wedding at Cley Windmill. We booked their Friday to Sunday wedding package so we could have our family and friends stay with us. It is a beautiful venue, oozing character set in the lovely surroundings of the Norfolk countryside within walking distance of the sea. Some highlights for us; Lovely rooms Good breakfasts with veggie options available Wedding breakfast plentiful and tasty Karla was friendly, organised and seemed genuinely excited about our wedding All other staff were really friendly Suppliers we met at their wedding fayre that we booked were all brilliant (shout-out to Bertie and Bev) Staff were all very relaxed and calming on what a busy and hectic day! A few small things we felt they could improve (but didn't detract from our experience): Wedding breakfast menu and pricing was confusing and seemed to change each time we spoke to the chef however this was resolved with the help of Karla. Communication could be quicker, however we understand they had lost their other wedding planner Some small maintenance issues in a couple of rooms, one bedroom door was hard to lock and unlock and some of the bathroom fittings were very worn Often we found the bar was unattended however we had the maximum number of guests and think the level of use of the bar was unexpected Overall we had a brilliant wedding we will look back on with very fond memories and I'm certain we will be visiting again in future!!Posted onTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We stayed at Cley Windmill for a wedding and it was absolutely magical from start to finish. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, with luxurious linens and high-quality toiletries that made our stay feel truly special. Breakfast was a real highlight, delicious and beautifully cooked with fresh local ingredients. The orange juice was particularly good! The staff were incredibly friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, going out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly. The location is simply stunning, surrounded by breathtaking views and full of character. We honestly can’t rate Cley Windmill highly enough. Cley windmill was the stunning venue we chose for our wedding on 17th September 2025. We always wanted a small intimate wedding and found this venue which was perfect. We had a gathering the day before for everyone to get acquainted and the team at windmill delivered a perfect get together with stunning BBQ style buffet - the ribs were to die for!.. The day itself was flawless, the staff attentive but not overbearing, creating a relaxed celebration of our day. Nothing was to much trouble throughout the 2 days. All our guests fell in love with the venue as we had. With the service taking place in the main tower and drinks in the cosy lounge area. For the main reception we opted for the marque which is in the garden which was dressed with our chosen colours and again was stunning and just as we had imagined. We had chosen a menu with Wendy the highly skilled resident chef, and she really delivered stunning food, amazing flavours and generous portions. we had a couple of people with dietary requirements and this was no problem for Wendy with suitable replacement dishes being provided, There were clean plates all round, together with the loosening of a few waistbands! a really big thank you for Wendy and her team together with the waiting staff who worked so hard. In summery if anyone is looking for a quant, charming, characterful venue for a small intimate wedding, you really cant go wrong with Cley Windmill. The venue stunning, the delivery flawless. Our day was perfect, we just wish we could do it all again. We had 23 guests and it was a perfect venue for a small party. Rooms are lovely, food is great. Food and drink great, very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. We had a Micro Wedding on Sunday 31-09-2025 which, thanks to Karla their Wedding Planner, made it an absolute success!! Once we'd arranged Dates, Karla and the Team took over, and sorted everything to perfection....Music, Food, Drinks and the unique Windmill location = stunning!! Thank you from Mr & Mrs Rumney xx
